Interior design is considered one of the areas that concern the human being and his internal and external environment and the developments that constantly occur in them to create a functional, utilitarian and aesthetic environment that satisfies the requirements of the individual and enriches his potential for a better life. And the development of society by preparing specialized cadres and competencies who are qualified and capable of leading, developing and developing our country.
Objectives
- Keeping pace with the scientific development in the field of interior design and architecture by linking the studies program in Libya with other programs in international universities as a first stage that contributes to openness to education and training in various parts of the world.
- Qualify those enrolled in the program and provide them with the applied skills necessary to keep pace with changes and developments in the labor market environment and production sites, and contribute to the development of the industrial sector and community development by providing technical and economic production.
- Preparing researchers and scholars in this field, in order to contribute to highlighting, developing and introducing artistic heritage and preserving its local characteristics.
- Achieving communication with the sectors that provide various services and contributing to the provision of services and technical advice to various agencies, ministries and community institutions.

Entry Reuirements
- The scientific council of the college determines the numbers of students who can be accepted in the departments of the college at the beginning of each semester, based on the report submitted to the scientific council by the head of the study and examinations office for the previous semester.
- Students are accepted to study in the Department of Interior Design according to what was stipulated in the regulations for admission, study and examinations in the college, and according to the available capabilities and in a manner that does not conflict with the quality requirements regarding the capabilities within the institutions, and is according to the following categories:
- 1- New students:
- New students who have not previously studied in higher education institutions, i.e. (obtaining a secondary school certificate or its equivalent):
- • Those who are accepted to study in the department must obtain a secondary certificate in addition to the general conditions stipulated in the regulations of study, examinations and discipline in universities and higher education institutions, as follows:
- • To have obtained a general secondary certificate (scientific) section with an average of no less than (65%) sixty-five percent of the total grades, provided that he passes the entrance exams and determines the capabilities established in the field of specialized study that the student wishes to enroll in. within the relevant department.
- • To be healthy enough to pursue studies in his desired major.
- • Admission is only after passing the entrance exam, which consists of a practical and written exam and a personal interview.
- • Students from other non-Libyan nationalities are accepted at their own expense in accordance with what is stipulated in the regulations of study, examinations and discipline, and that the applicant meets the other admission conditions, that he resides in habitual residence throughout the study period and that he pays the prescribed tuition fees in accordance with the regulations and systems in force in universities, without Violating the rules of reciprocity stipulated in the signed agreements, and the student must pass the entrance exam.
- • The scientific department determines at the beginning of each semester specialized committees to conduct entrance exams, provided that its members are not less than three members of the teaching staff.
- 2- Transfer students:
- Students who have previously studied at a higher education institution, where the college may, after the approval of the relevant department, accept transfer students from other recognized universities, within the limits of the capabilities available to the departments, according to the following conditions:
- • The student should not have been dismissed from the university from which he was transferred for scientific or disciplinary reasons.
- • The student wishing to transfer must submit the required documents approved by the competent authorities, provided that they contain the courses he has previously studied, and the vocabulary of these courses at least one month before the start of the semester.
- • The authority to accept some or all of the general subjects courses and specialized courses that the student has previously studied is for the college and for the concerned department, provided that the courses that are equivalent to the student do not exceed half of the courses necessary for graduation in the concerned department that he joins according to what is stipulated in the regulations of admission, study and examinations in the college.
- • The transfer student is required to study the courses that were not accepted in accordance with the academic program proposed by the concerned department.
- • The student's general average in his undergraduate studies in the college he is transferring from must not be less than 50%.
- • The student's GPA is calculated upon graduation based on the number of units and courses completed in the college.
- • A specialized committee is formed in each department to equalize the academic courses of the transferred students, and it has to broadcast these requests within no more than two weeks from the date of their referral to the concerned department, and the student is not considered an actual transfer unless all the required procedures are completed.
- 3- Completion request:
- • Students who have obtained a higher qualification (high diploma) and wish to complete university studies, as the department may accept outstanding students from graduates of higher institutes in the field of interior design only, provided that the student’s general average is not less than excellent, and the number of admissions is determined according to the capabilities of the department, and the subjects he studied are calculated A former student, i.e. (a number of remedial courses are added that qualify him to obtain a university degree in his major), provided that he does not change his major.
Study Plan
The Bachelor in Interior Design prepares students to qualify for Bachelor in Interior Design . The student studies several subjects which have been carefully chosen in this major to cover its different aspects.
