A workshop on (environmental legislation and organic agriculture, challenges and prospects)

On the occasion of World Environment Day, under the slogan (Our Land, Our Future), and within the College of Law, the Public Law Department and the College’s Community and Environmental Service Office organized a workshop in partnership with the Horticulture Department at the College of Agriculture, a workshop on (Environmental Legislation and Organic Agriculture, Challenges and Prospects)...

 During the workshop, several legal and agricultural issues were raised and discussed.

 From the Faculty of Law, University of Tripoli, Prof.  Amna Al-Thawadi, a faculty member in the Department of Public Law, focused on the need for a law regulating organic agriculture, and the topic of organic agriculture in comparative legislation, as well as the contribution of Dr. Abdel Hakim Zamouna in enriching the dialogue regarding the project to amend the environmental law and aspects of innovation in it.

 As for the College of Agriculture, Ms. Soraya Ouhaiba spoke about the scientific aspects of organic agriculture in terms of concept, its economic, environmental and health importance, and the challenges it faces.

 The workshop was attended by a number of faculty members from both colleges, some of those interested in organic agriculture, as well as representatives of the Organic Agriculture Unit of the Ministry of Agriculture.
